    Every town, big or small has an ANZAC memorial. They are always a central feature of the town and a heartfelt tribute to the fallen.

    In Dajarra, a very small town where we stopped for lunch, the war memorial was for the sole local, Peter Craige, who went to war after riding 1,000 miles to sign up.
