• Exploring Hobart at a gentle pace.

    September 24 in Australia ⋅ 🌬 11 °C

Kate and I went for a morning walk and coffee whilst mum and dad recovered from the big day of travel. We had a walk around Salamanca and over the hill to Battery point. Such a Beautiful place. We then headed out to the Cascades Women's factory for a tour. It was very interesting and they have done an excellent job to create the image of life in the prison considering there are almost no buildings left on the site. The conditions for the women were appalling and the prison sentences were totally out of scale for many of the crimes.
Lunch today was an exceptional French lentil soup in a small bakery/cafe.
After a rest we went for a short walk to Franklin wharf.
Josephine and Mark came to the apartment and we had drinks at our local again before all going out to dinner in Salamanca at the Ball and Chain grill. Delicious streaks and a sampling of desert enjoyed. We had a fun night catching up.
