Crazy Horse Memorial

The Crazy Horse Memorial is meant to be the biggest memorial on earth once finished. It's a memorial for the native Americans in the area, it has been constructed for several decades now, with very slow progress. It is kind of a private project of a family, who turned down governmental funding, so the whole thing is financed privately and through the visitors. Which results in quite a personal cult of the mastermind of the project, the grandfather of today's generation, who still work on the monument. We visited the museum about native Americans, which was the family's own collection, and then we had a tour to the monument, where we saw a funny- looking mountain goat.Read more
