It wasn’t supposed to rain. Well, 10% chance. But it drizzled off and on and by afternoon it poured for a while. So, not many photos.

Things I notice along the trail. There is a lot of mint growing along side of the road. There’s also fennel. I remember seeing a lot of fennel when I did the Camino the first time. I hadn’t seen any the first couple of days this time. But after PortoMarin it seemed to start popping up.

A lot of people are on the Camino. The picture I took in no way shares a true sense of the numbers: easily two hundred if not more and we haven’t yet reached the junction where the other trails converge. Good thing our accommodations are all booked in advance.Read more

TravelerIt’s a little crazy. And it’s not full season yet. Very few North Americans on the trail in the final stretch, mostly Europeans. I can’t imagine what it will be like by the end of June. Many of the people were hiking with began in Saint Jean Pied de Port almost a month ago. Some had to go around the Pyrenees due to snow and inclement weather. There are also some/many 🤷‍♂️ trying to do it without reservations and staying at the municipal albergues. But that requires a flexible schedule. I booked my reservations before Christmas and I didn’t get all my first choices. The previous time, when I was more successful, I booked everything in the middle of November.
