    Leaving Bordeaux, we ride along the Garrone River and into a more rural France. Destination is Lacanau, a lake several miles from the Atlantic Ocean. This area was marsh land many hundreds of years ago, and was transformed into a pine forest by Napoleon- who planted pines to “drain the swamps” and create wealth for the locals. We ride on a dedicated bike path the entire way, going through tiny villages.Read more
