Day 8 Florence
Today in beautiful Florence we had a leather making demo and went to a legit florentine leather store.
(I didnt buy anyone a wallet here, sorry, none of them looked any different to what we get at home)

Then we had a tour of the city. It was once run by the famous Medici family who built the church in the main centre which is unlike any other. Its white,green and pink and made like a mosaic.
Here i also saw the statue of David.
The medici palace is massive. Ridiculous.
But even more ridiculous was that at 1 point a wife of a Medici wanted a bigger palace so they built one on the other side of the river. THEN built a tunnel like structure that connected the original medici palace to the new one. The tunnel was originally only allowed to have goldsmiths stations inside. Now in their place are jewellery shops.

Michaelangelo actually copied the structure of the medici duomo to make the dome of St. Peters bascilica.
