• Landed in Houston

We landed in Houston just fine. I gathered the kids I was riding with and waited for luggage. We were short 2 bags. One was found after a while, but Maya's bag was lost.

We looked EVERYWHERE. Went to the counter and left her info with the attendant... Who wrote it on a scrap of paper. Fabric dark grey carryon. The helper Emparted very little trust in the process.

As we left for the hotel, Maya called her dad who was giving LOTS of advice on what to do. She was pretty upset about the bag and did not trust that it would be delivered during the night. Her dad and put in a new Apple Air Tag. He found it. It looked like it was in the parking garage, so we turned around and went back.

It turns out that the entire parking garage at the Houston-Bush Airport is built on top of the baggage claim Dad kept texting saying "You are so close!" We looked all around again. We saw a bunch of bags, but Maya was sure that her bag was not there.
We went back to the info desk and asked again. The new attendant was pretty cagey about what she saw on the screen. We were like "Do you have new info?!" She said,"Yes, I do." And handed us a slip of paper.

We went back to where the collected bags were. By this time, Maya's dad had texted us a pic of her bag... Her HARD-SIDED BAG. Yes, it was there. The young man who gave us her bag gave her the very appropriate sassy look when he handed her the bag.

Maya was overjoyed, but we got to the hotel at 11:30pm. Joey and I got to sleep at about 12:30am. Luckily, we got to sleep in a bit for one day. Poor Maya is on the drive team, so she had to leave the hotel at 0630! Poor happy girl.
