Cape Town, always listen to cool people

Today I was hanging out with a Canadian boy from the hostel, he’s a helicopter pilot currently based in Botswana in one of the most special safari area and flies rich guest from A to B while spotting some giraffes and animals from the air, he’s basically an air-ranger haha. How cool is that? 🌈 I was happy that we could hang out as we also discussed hostels are a bit strange in SA as people don’t really stay there to get to know people and connect, even in a super social hostel like ours, especially because 60% is germans, 30% is dutchies, and the left-over 10% is only internationals; kinda annoying tbh. 😅 Matt had plans for the evening so I didn’t really know what to do with myself until our bar guy in the hostel (who is otherwise a musician, soul/jazz singer) told me to go across the road to check out a place with live music. Oh yeah!!! ✨ The concert turned out to be magical, the band of a South African singer was playing, she played the marimba and some kind of special instrument, and created such a vibe and feeling of community that by the end everyone got on their feet. 👏👏👏 I love love love being guided by the enthusiasm of other people: when I’m told you MUST go with sparkling eyes, then I go, no questions asked. 🙏☺️☺️Read more
