• Ceduna to Eucla Old Telegraph Ststion

    June 1, 2021 in Australia

Left Ceduna about 8am, relatively boring drive except the bloody wind. Filled up at Nullarbor otherwise we would not have made it to Eucla. The roadhouses and Motels look the same as they did 40 years ago. Between Nullarbor and Border Village we experienced really strong winds and rain. This was where the road was closest to the Great Australian Bight. Border a town we got the third degree from the police even asking for fuel receipts to show we came via Broken Hill. All good though and they were very polite. Every copper on duty that I heard were either from England or Scotland. We headed down to the free camp at the Old Telegraph Station at Eucla. When we arrived only one other van in the site. 3 more arrived soon after. Really nice sites, you have your own area surrounded by dunes and quite secluded. The only shame tonight is we cannot have a fire as the wind is quite strong. Karen spotted the International Space Station ( or a UFO) ripping across the sky. Played around with iPhone 12 and GoPro taking night star shots. Really impressed with the iphone12. The photos attached to this are from. Iphone12 on a Mini tripod with 30sec exposure. I will keep playing am with both GoPro and iPhone. Unfortunately rain has come through, not heavy but enough to stop us sitting outside and it is getting cold. Heading to Balladonia or nearby tomorrow, about 500kRead more
