• Day 26 Tulki Beach and Yardie Gorge

    June 22, 2021 in Australia

Went for a drive south from Tulki Beach to check out the other beaches down south towards Yardie Creek. We stopped at Turquoise Bay which is supposed to be awesome swimming. Unfortunately it is blowing a gale again. There are several beaches between Tulki Beach and Yardie creek, all of them stunning. At Yardie Creek Karen and I decided to do the Yardie Gorge walk. It is a grade 4 but only 2km. Saw a bunch of Rock Wallabies sunning on the Gorge walks. The walk was quite steep and difficult at times but well worth it. We headed back to Tulki Beach via the information Centre and came across two Australian Bustards (Bush Turkeys, not the common scrub turkeys we normally see). They look like mini Emus with a weird walk. Wandered down the beach in the evening and wandered around in the low tides. Blue spotted Rays where wallowing in the water less than a metre from shore. Wind is supposed to drop tonight, fingers crossedRead more
