The weather remains unfavorable, but we snagged our Tallebudgera site a day early and decided to head north. Aware of more rain ahead, we preferred the Gold Coast's options over Trial Bay in wet weather. Smooth M1 drive until about 30 km south of Chinderah, where a northbound M1 truck fire disrupted traffic. Thanks to Waze, we detoured via Murwillumbah and Tumbulgum, offering a scenic diversion. Back on the highway near South Tweed, it was surprisingly empty. Tallebudgera Tourist Park, though pricey, justified it with a prime location by Tallebudgera Creek. Despite squalls and muggy weather, we opted for dinner at the surf club across the road.Read more
