    Must be a big classic car and hot rod parade in Australia Day in Canberra. The can park where we store our van was full of them, lined up ready to head to town. I thought travelling on Australia Day would be cruisy as there would be bugger all people on the highways, wrong. North of Sydney of the M1 near mooney mooney creek was at a standstill for no reason. To make it more interesting it was 44c. Stopping for the night at Morisset Showgrounds then on to Trial Bay tomorrow. Only problem this is an unpowered site and it is bloody hot with a seering hot wind. At least tomorrow we have 3 days on the beach.
    The Morisset Showgrounds had a food market on and at 9pm had fireworks only about 100m from us. Sounded like I was back on a firing range with m16s and SLRs, bang bang bang BOOM    Baca lagi

    Arrived at noon to a nice campsite near a quiet beach. Kangaroos are everywhere. Overcast and thundery, but warm. Storm hit at 4 pm with loud thunder and heavy rain, lasting until around 6 pm. Rain is still continuing at 8pm. Hoping for clearer skies tomorrow.”Baca lagi

    "The day stayed overcast and not warm enough for swimming. Went for a walk up the local hill in the morning, stumbled upon a German memorial related to Trial Bay Goal, a WW1 German internment camp. Drove to Port Macquarie to Anaconda, heavy rain. Dinner now, raining heavily again. Campers mostly left—probably back to work and school. Hoping for a better day tomorrow."Baca lagi

    The weather remains unfavorable, but we snagged our Tallebudgera site a day early and decided to head north. Aware of more rain ahead, we preferred the Gold Coast's options over Trial Bay in wet weather. Smooth M1 drive until about 30 km south of Chinderah, where a northbound M1 truck fire disrupted traffic. Thanks to Waze, we detoured via Murwillumbah and Tumbulgum, offering a scenic diversion. Back on the highway near South Tweed, it was surprisingly empty. Tallebudgera Tourist Park, though pricey, justified it with a prime location by Tallebudgera Creek. Despite squalls and muggy weather, we opted for dinner at the surf club across the road.Baca lagi

    This morning, took a stroll to Tallebudgera Seawall – a really pleasant spot, although the muggy weather lingered. Upon returning to the van, braved my first swim. Initially chilly, but turned out to be surprisingly refreshing.
    There are a few Curlews hanging around the van park. One has lost his partner and every time he sees a reflection in a window he thinks it is another curlew to chat up, funny to watch

    Explored Harbourtown outlet shopping center after four years. It didn’t quite live up to past visits, but the discovery of 8 Street Asian Food was a highlight – reminiscent of Sydney’s Eat Street. Delighted in Chinese, Korean, dumplings, Japanese, Thai, Filipino, and more. The pan-fried pork dumplings with chili oil were a standout.

    Despite the ordinary weather, with on-and-off rain, we capped off the day with a drink at the Burleigh Heads Surf Club – a fantastic location.”    Baca lagi

    Had brekky this morning with good friends and ex neighbours from our time in Turnbull court Petrie. Fantastic reminiscing about the great times in Turnbull court. This afternoon we caught up with another pair of good friends that we have not seen for 10 years. Quiet evening and back on the road tomorrow.Baca lagi

    Moved north to Coolum Beach this morning. Packed up about 8.30 and it was bloody hot, my T-shirt was saturated by the time we were finished. Setting up at Coolum Beach was the same. Had a quick shower and went to visit my cousins Jill and John for luck. Great catching up as we haven’t seen them since before COVID. Once the sun set a great breeze came in and it is nice and cool. We got a great spot in the van pack backed onto the sand dunes and right next to the path to the beach. Went for a stroll down to the beach tonight. Shame is the dune behind the van is blocking the breeze, oh well.Baca lagi

    Woke up to the rhythmic crash of waves on the beach and a chorus of kookaburras accompanied by some magpies—an unmistakable Aussie wake-up call. Took a barefoot stroll along the beach, where the scene resembled a bustling freeway with people engaged in various activities like walking, running, surfing, swimming, and beach volleyball.

    Later, visited the Zone RV factory in Coolum, where their impressive offerings have now earned a spot on my bucket list for a future adventure. However, the starting price for the base peregrine model is a considerable $139,000.    Baca lagi

    Forgot how nice this place is. Last visited over 20 years ago. It has grown but not excessively so. Went for a swim this arvo and the water was like a warm bath, still refreshing though. Put the drone up but still havent worked out what format Polarsteps wants for videos. here is the link

    Went for a walk on the beach this morning, sand very soft and bloody hard work. I forgot how much hard work it was walking along soft sand. We came up this way to check out the over 55 RV lifestyle villages that are advertised everywhere. While the actual villages are great they are surrounded by absolutely nothing or scumbag central. Not for us. Will move from here on Friday and check out Hervey Bay for two days then head south againBaca lagi

    Woke up to rain but it cleared up later, though it was windy. We are staying at the NRMA Woodgate Holiday Village. Fantastic park and very clean and quiet. Visited Snakes Downunder Reptile Park near Childers. It’s small but has great displays and helpful hosts. Stocked up and returned to Woodgate. Main beach was too windy, so we went to Theodolite Creek, a calm spot. Didn’t see any soldier crabs this time, unlike our last visit.Baca lagi

    Moved to Hervey Bay today. It is much bigger than I thought it would be. Staying at scarness caravan park right on the beach. Low tide is a bit like the Pilbara in WA where it goes out a fair way (not quite as far though). Went for a stroll to the beach last night and came across a good sized spider and one of the best formed webs I have seen in a long time. There are quite a few Fruit bats screeching all night too.Baca lagi

    Nice walk along the beach this morning. The water is so clear I could watch the birds dive under the water and hunt the fish. Had two swims today, one at high tide and one a few hours later.     Packed this morning to move to Bribie Island. As soon as I was about to put away the awning it started bucketing down. As soon as we drove off it cleared up, Murphies law at work.     And back on the GC staying at Broadwater Tourist park slightly to the north of GC. Very nice spot . Some Bin Chickens hanging around though. A few Curlews wandering the park also.

    What a morning, absolutely pissing down in the morning. Even though we packed most the night before still takes about 10 mins to hook on and drive off. Pissing down on the highway south. Gobsmacked at the lack of driving sense of people . People sitting at one car length behind a truck at 100kph. Cars overtaking me, pulling in front less than one care length then slowing down. All in a torrential downpour. Rain eased up until about 10 mins north of Coffs then it opened up again. Will probably head home tmw, too bloody wet. The birds (probably parakeets ) going off in the park, thousands of them and really loud tonightBaca lagi

    And it is done. Decided due to crap weather to head home, copped severe thunderstorms south of Sydney.
    4700k covered this trip. Very happy with the way the nextgen v6 ranger wildtrak tows.
