Lake Gairdner - Day Two: Race Day!

Excitement all round as we prepare to watch cars and motorbikes race along the salt at speeds topping over 300km/h!

Its pretty special coming to the salt lake during the races, as this is the only time you can drive your car onto the salt lake. They blow all the red dust off the car before you enter the lake and you must take a tarp to park on.

We spent some time at the start line, then went to the pits before setting up along the track.

The salt was so white and bright, we all kept calling it ice by mistake 😂.

The kids had fun collecting the salt to take back to the caravan for the salting of the bait when they go fishing.Read more
