• Stockyard Gully Caves

    1. toukokuuta 2021, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

These caves were so much better than we expected. We saw them in advertised in an adventure broacher for $99 a pop and looked them up to see if we could drive there ourselves, we could! ( for free!) So off we set with our head torches charged and ready roll.

You got to the cave by walking down an old river bed. We explored the first cave it was massive and pitch black when you turned off all the torches. We got a hot tip to climb over the rocks at the end of the first cave and keep walking and there is a 2nd cave. This cave was even better than the first, it was so deep and had so many rooms coming off it that just kept going and going, it was a bit scary exploring it with just our little torches.

At the entry of all the caves were these ‘feral’ beehives, they were very interesting to look at and full of bees. In some places the honey comb had fallen down so you could get a closer look at the patterns.

These caves were definitely worth exploring, we would love to come back and spend some more time here.
