• South Lefroy - Snorkelling Adventures

We spent hours here the last 2 days snorkelling and exploring the amazing reef. Today we brought the boat with us so we could get a bit further out and not get exhausted swimming through the strong current to get out.

The best spot was where we found some large coral bommies. Each time we came through we saw numerous turtles, sharks and an abundance of fish. We found a large turtle sleeping amongst the coral and rocks, at first we thought he may have been dead, but when Brett swam down for a closer inspection and gave him a pat he woke up and swam off.

My favourite bit is when we come upon the large schools of fish and there is just hundreds of fish swimming around you in a circular motion, it is just something I have never seen before. There is usually 3 to 4 different kinds of fish and somehow they are all able to stay together in their own schools but move in the same direction as the other fish without all getting mixed up together.

The kids saw their first reef shark when snorkelling today, they were very excited to have swam with a shark.
