• Cuteness Overload

Ok, so we didn’t wait long to go back and see more turtle hatchlings. After seeing that one adorable baby this morning we were hooked and wanted more, so we planned to go down for a night viewing.

After dinner, we watched a Christmas movie to pass the time. I was still pumped, when the movie stopped I said “who is ready to go?”. Brett was asleep in the chair, Mel was changing her mind and the kids were not keen ☹️.

Brett, even though he had worked all day outside in the heat said he would take me down for a look, then everyone decided to come. I bet they are they are glad they did because “Oh my cuteness overload” this time we saw so many hatchlings running around in the sand.

We used our torches to guide them towards the water and the kids collected some of the long lost ones out of the dunes and directed them back onto the sand.

As we were watching the baby turtles, mumma turtles started to come up on the beach and lay their eggs. Lachlan came up and told me it was “the best night ever” 🥰.

What a night, we saw at least 50 hatchings and about 10 mumma turtles come ashore to lay.
