Great Ocean Road

We smashed out the Great Ocean Road today! Plans changed a bit, we originally had 3 nights booked at Tidal River, but then the weather turned and the winds were going to be 60 plus km/h, we decided it was not going to be good for beach front camping. So we headed to Phillip Island and onto the GOR, we had one day to get to the other side to make it to Mortlake for Peridot fossicking!

I had been researching peridot fossicking for months and now it is only open to the public once a month, and I was not missing out!

In true Victorian style, the day started out sunny, then it got cloudy, then it rained and got cold! At least the wind stayed away today.

The kids really enjoyed the Great Ocean Road, they made lots of wonderful comments like:

- How many more of these are there?

- They all look the same!

- Do we have to stop again?

- can I use my iPad yet?

- Is there a skate park in this town?

- I’m not walking anymore, I’m going back to the car!

It was a long day, Brett and I enjoyed the drive and lookouts, we did find a skate park and the kids were finally happy!Leggi altro
