Morehead River

Day 3: Cooktown to Hann (Morehead River).

We woke up to pouring rain, just what you want to hear when you are sleeping in a tent!

We waited a while, but the rain persisted. We ended up packing up a wet tent and bedding.

We drove until we found sun! A lovely camp by the river.

The kids made some pots and caught lots of live bait. They spent the afternoon fishing, they caught jungle perch and herring.

There was heaps of fire wood, so we cranked up a big fire, which Shaun joined us for 🤣.

Ben had a major rat issue, before we left it ate through his peanut butter, mouse trap, TV and multiple other items. The rat lasted 3 nights on the Cape Trip, at Morehead River Ben went to get something from his car, we heard him and Linda yell! He had thrown the rat from the car, hunted it down and cremated it!
