    30 Eylül, Avustralya ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

With a 7.30 flight we were up at 4am to leave for the airport.

What great three days, we got to squeeze so much in even around Brett’s 2 days at work.

Saw the Melbourne star on the way out and then a very windy departure.

Just to top off the already great few days , Brett took me to lunch at Swansea on the way home. We sat in the sun and enjoyed the last few minutes of piece before coming home to our darling children, whom we missed dearly.

  • Eureka 89

    29 Eylül, Avustralya ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

We thought we would finish up our mini get away with a fancy pants dinner.

Eurkea 89 is 89 floors up, one level above the Melbourne Sky Deck experience.

We selected the two course dinner with sky deck experience. 5.30 was the perfect time to arrive, we got to see the magnificent 360 degree view of the city in the day and as it transcended into night while we sat at our table and watched the sun set.Okumaya devam et

  • Left me again! Day 3

    29 Eylül, Avustralya ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

Unfortunately they needed Brett back on site today, so I was left to my own devises again.

Breakfast with the yummiest chai latte! And then a massive walk to the Queen Victoria Markets.

The markets were great, all I could think was I wish I lived here so if I could come and buy my produce here each week! I did get some yummy treats for arvo nibbles.

On my way to the markets I took a short cut through Block Arcade and stumbled across Melbourne’s famous mosaic floor built in 1890’s.

I had planned on having tea at the Hopetoun Tea rooms, which is famous for its extravagant window displays of handmade cakes, traditional high tea service, and more than a century of Victorian old-world charm! But when I got there it was closed due to rd works blocking the entry 😢😢😢.

An afternoon nap, nibble and wine platter before heading out to our last night fancy dinner at Eureka 89.

  • Day 2: He left me!

    28 Eylül, Avustralya ⋅ ☀️ 11 °C

Poor Brett had to work, so I was on my own today!

After a late wake up (8.30) 😬! I sat and enjoyed a cuppa and donut by the window.

I spent the day keeping my-self busy:

    - walked into the city
    - caught a tram and did a city loop
    - walked the art sector looking at all the graffiti ally ways
    - wine and dined my-self
    - walked, walked and walked😂
    - checked out China Town
    - Federation Square
    - Walked the river bank
    - made it to the federation bells for the chiming and realised they have changed the times, so I actually missed it 🤨
    - went back to the room for a nap!

Brett got home from work, so we woke ourselves up with a dip in the infinity pool, had some nibbles and hit up town.

We started with cocktails on a floating restaurant, walked to China town for dinner and then found some secret speak easy bars hidden around town where we relaxed drinking some very tasty cocktails.

We ended the night by losing money at the Casino, at least we gave it a crack!

  • Melbourne Day 1

    27 Eylül, Avustralya ⋅ ⛅ 14 °C

Brett is always getting to go away for work, so this time I tagged along.

Brett book an early flight on the Sunday, so we would have the day to do something’s together.

We arrived in Melbourne just after 10am, picked up the hire car and headed straight out to Brighton Beach to see the colourful bathing boxes.

Next up, famous croissants from LUNA! LUNA is founded by former aerodynamicist Kate Reid, Lune Croissanterie treats pastry-making with extreme precision.

Then it was time to check in to our hotel! Level 22 of the Crown with city views 😀.

Time to explore, we walked down to the water front and had a bevie before hitting up the DFOs. This was not really our scene, so many people! So we did a lap and headed back to get ready for dinner.

We decided to walk into the city, we were a bit late after arvo drinks and nibbles in the room and most restaurants kitchens were closed, lucky there is plenty of street food vendors open late into the night. We settled on Japanese. It was delicious. I conveniently found a donut shop that is open 24 hours and got my-self some breakfast for the morning.

  • Mc Time

    31 Ağustos, Avustralya ⋅ 🌙 15 °C

    So proud of Braxy.

He spent last week writing a CV and cover letter, applied to McDonalds, got an interview, practiced interview questions and then landed himself a job.

Good on ya mate, dad and I are proud of you and can’t wait for you to start paying your way 😂😂😂😂😂😂.

We celebrated with a yummy cake, ice cream and berries after submitting all the paper work tonight.

  • Riding at Free Flight

    29 Ağustos, Avustralya ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Another great weekend away. Lachie got to test out his new big wheels with sand tyre and Brax was ripping it up on the main Motocross Track. Shaun fell off on his first ride in the first corner and gave us a bit of a scare but is just battered and bruised. Other than that no injuries or hospital trips.
I got to ride with Adam who has raced all his life and even finished 11th in the Fink Desert race which is incredible. It was great to see his lines through corners and on the tracks…… for the short time I could keep up with him before he blasted off into the distance.
All in all a perfect weekend away riding.

  • Melbourne Work n Play

    25 Ağustos, Avustralya ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

Travelled to Melbourne for work to perform testing at Huntsman Polyurethanes. I was lucky enough to have Pete with me which made work much less stressful…… But best of all, Pete and I got to explore Melbourne for a couple of nights including a very expensive teppanyaki restaurant which was definitely my highlight. We also tried many different pubs, speak easy hidden bars and even sampled some mulled red wine. The speak easy bars are very hidden but are based on times when alcohol was prohibited. They are generally doors hidden in alleyways where you go through multiple doors and sometimes underground with no windows. They are bustling with people and have a great atmosphere, like stepping back in time where you sit and sip delicious cocktails in lounges or vintage furniture. We had a great time but very exhausting and arrived home just in time to pack the car and head away with the fam to Gulgong motorbike riding for the weekend.Okumaya devam et

  • Trailer Upgrade

    22 Ağustos, South Atlantic Ocean ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

Poor Shaun spent many hours helping me upgrade the Motorbike trailer but it has turned out great. We put upgraded axle and springs, strengthened the chassis, new hitch, 500kg jockey wheel and double tow chains as well as adding electric brakes. She’s safe as anything now and even got a fresh coat of rust inhibitor paint underneath.
Pete also came around to help grind but the Hanover got the better of him and he pretty much slept and snores all day while Shaun and I grinded and welded 😂
Also fitted up Lachies new big wheels on the KTM85

  • Signet Ring

    14 Ağustos, Avustralya ⋅ ☀️ 15 °C

This one was tricky, it doesn’t look it, but stamping is hard.
The first heart slipped of the edge, so I had to cut it off and start again, then the second heart wasn’t quite hard enough, but I had to go with it.
This one is going to Braxy’s girl friend, he was happy with the final outcome, so that was good.

  • Friday Arvo Sunset

    31 Temmuz, Avustralya ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

After a hard days work, a relaxing sunset fire and Prosecco are very welcomed. I had just done 4 hours on a jack hammer but got home with enough time to hook the boat up and take Lauren and Jett for a romantic trip to the island. We’ve talked about having a fire on the island and watching sunset so it was nice to actually get out there and do it. 😊Okumaya devam et
