Street opera and other curiosities

As part of the CNY celebrations, there was some sort of street opera happening as well. It was really interesting, because there was a band made up of old men who were partly missing some limbs, had a wide variety of instruments, and were seemingly just jamming randomly with no apparent order. Then the opera singers came out, and while I'm sure they're halfway decent singers, the sound system they used destroyed any artistic value they might've brought to the table. It was mostly crackly static coming through the speakers 😅

Of course, outside of the singers and musicians, I was the star of the show. So much so, that several people came up to take pictures with me, and there was an old man (85yo) who was fascinated by me. He was too afraid to approach me initially, so he wrote a handwritten note that he gave to Hailing. It explained more about his background as a village artist, and he even shared his phone number. He then asked Hailing to take a picture of him with me, send it to his daughter, and then follow him to his home where he wanted to invite us for a meal.
