• Our last day in Chicago

    17 февраля, Соединенные Штаты ⋅ 🌬 -14 °C

Well our last full day in Chicago has come to an end, we leave for the airport at 9.00am tomorrow, Washington DC bound.

Our time in Chicago has been nothing but spectacular, this city has surpassed all our expectations. It is up there with Boston as one of our favourite cities visited so far. And I have to say I did pretty bloody good with the hotel I chose.

As the weather was super cold today with a feels like of -20 degrees all day and normal temp of -14 degrees, we did some walking around the city stopping in at some shops to warm up. I did say to Dave at one stage while walking I didn’t know if it was a good thing or bad thing that I didn’t feel cold anymore 😂😂 It really is hard to believe we are experiencing a difference of about 45 degrees in temperature to back home.

As we came back to our hotel for lunch, we past a protest for President’s Day, and as are hotel is near Trump Tower, it ended there so there were lots of people and police around our hotel.

After a rest we headed out again at 3.00pm for our last walk around this magnificent city, a stroll down Navy Pier before heading back to our hotel taking in one last walk along the river. We finished off our walk with a hot chocolate and cappuccino from Starbucks.

    We walked 11.7kms.

Thank you Chicago, you have made two people very happy.
