• Sunrise at Uluru & Kata Tjuṯa

    December 14, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Up far too early & on the coach to take us into the national park to watch the sunrise .. we drove closer to the rock and circumnavigated it until we came to our viewing spot. We watched as the sun rose changing the colours of the rock, which was more colourful than the sun set. It was also quieter, think as people were still waking up. Again not very busy & plenty of space to take in the views. Once the sun had risen we headed off to Kata Tjuṯa another large rock formation in the park, & larger than Uluru.. we then tracked through the gorge of this rock face despite the pesky flies which seemed more abundant this morning, & I had forgotten my net.. it was a reasonable hike especially in the heat. We even saw a lizard. On our return we stopped off at a couple of viewing spots to take it all in.. another well organised trip, not too many people despite seeing quite a few coaches going into the park .Read more
