Day 2-Sunny beach & Marry Queen of Scots

It's been a lovely sunny and warm day again. We had planned to cycle around Loch Leven but there are apprently no cycle hire shops open on a Sunday. So we took to our feet and found a nice sandy beach right on the Loch edge.

We then walked back to the pier in Kinross to meet a boat which took us to Loch leven Castle in the middle of the Loch. This is were Marry Queen of Scots was imprisoned in 1567. To finally escape the Island in 1568 with the help of Willie Douglas who looked after the boats. It was also visited by William Wallase and Robert the Bruce.Read more
