    Largo Santa Luza

    This square is just down the hill a bit form the sun gate square. there is a church on this one with 2 tile murals from the 18th century.

    One shows the pre earthquake Praco do Comercia with the royal palace that was destroyed in the 1755 quake

    the 2nd tile shows the recocnquest of Lisbon from the Moors by Afonso Henriques. a Crusader. The Portuguese hero Martim Moniz is shown blocking the door. He allowed him self to be crushed to let his comrades into the walls so they could attack and kill the Moors.

    this square was full of great plants, Bougenvillia, the bright purple one, Butterfly bush, a white shrub that I have yet to ID.

    the other part of the square with the poole and the pergola that was covered by Bougenvillia had some musicians playing. a fiddle a guitar and a portuguese guitar it looks like a mandolin.
