this is the Cloister attached to the church.

Rick steeves: this restored cloister is the architectural highlight of Belam. the lacy arcade is Manueline, the simpler diamond and decorative rose frieze above the top floor is Renaissance. Study the carvings, especially eh gargoyles above the lower set of arches. among these functioning rainspots, find a monkey, a kitten and a cricket.
