Travel Day

Arriving at the Billing Airport a few hour before the flight paid off because our scheduled flight to Denver was delayed enough that we would miss our flight to London and lose a day of vacation. Since we were early enough they fit us on as standby on an earlier flight, but it was in final boarding so we ran. Roxanne’s necklace set off the alarm so that meant her shoes had to be swabbed. The swab had an alarm which meant she had to have a full pat down (frisked) and at the same time full backpack search. All electronics inside purse and backpack had to swabbed too. Cassie dashed to the gate to let them know Roxanne was on her way. We got on the flight by the skin of our teeth. Phew! That was too close to having to make all sorts of re-arranging. Just a little adrenaline to start off! Cassie had just said as Lee was dropping us off at the airport “We’ll pretend we’re on the Amazing Race”.
