Captain Steve to Willemstad

Captain Steve steered us safely from Spanish Waters to Willemstad.

We could enjoy the famous pontoon bridge with the historic Dutch buildings in the backgrounds.

We passed along an ocean giant very close.

Had a look at the drilling vessel in Caracas Bay.

Kathy and Steve really are great guests and also a great crew.
With their helping hands, docking was easy.

5 minutes after arrival, the ice cubes were on board!!!!!

Screaming engines shake our hulls.

AIS on vessels and airplanes send on different frequencies. So they could only see our navigation lights, as we could see theirs.Read more

Wonderful Klein Curacao

In the morning Andrew gets his dive stamp from Dive Friends.

After an exceptional 4 hour sailing from Bonaire, we reached Klein Curacao.
Our fishermen on board are busy.
Andrew catches a smaller Tuna in the morning and a big colorful Mahi Mahi (Goldmakrele) on the ocean.

Anchor ground is good on sand.
30 m chain + bridle give a good hold. Anchor alarm keeps silent.

Egbert prepares Sashimi for us.

The night is full of stars and 16 kn of wind cools our skin during the night.
No waves, very calm.

Next morning Kathy, Steve, Jenny and Andrew swim in the crystal clear water to the beach.Read more

Tenderloin steak from Argentina and blue potatoes from Idahoe...wow...1 star restaurant on Mahana and sunset in front of Klein Bonaire...unbelievable......and at the end of the day we lost our buoy stick

.so the skipper jumped right in to rescue the stick

01.15 auf dem karibischen Meer, 90 nm Richtung West bis Bonaire. Eine herrliche Nacht. Vollmond, silbern glitzert das Meer. Ich sitze am Steuerstand. Hinter meinem Rücken blitzt alle 10 Sekunden der Leuchtturm von Los Roques. 20 Knoten wahrer Wind treiben die Mahana platt vor dem Wind voran. Die Wogen heben sie von hinten an, dann surft sie in gleichmäßigem Rhythmus den Wellenberg hinunter.
Der Wind spielt warm an meinem Ohr.
Von Leon übernahm ich meine zweistündige Wache. Seinen Schatten sehe ich noch in der Pantry hantieren.
Sterne sind nur schwach zu erkennen.
Die Großschot knarrt.

Mahana läuft wie auf Schienen, die Segel als Schmetterling gesetzt.

Südwestlich weit voraus über dem Festland von Venezuela blitzt es ab und zu.

Schön ist es.Read more

"Cow", our friendly GRP craftsman who made a perfect hole for the new emergency tiller. He lost 3 finger tips during his professional career. They were stiched on again.
"Cow" is his nickname, because he is vegetarian and grows his own herbs for health.
