Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day! Rugged up we headed down to the Freight Shed, where we had the great meal last night, to have a great breakfast this morning. Not open. Back up to the Main Street. None of the small handful of cafes that were supposedly open were! We had a lovely walk along the lake in the crisp morning air so not all was lost.
Plan B - breakfast at Tim Horton’s, the only option, then hit the road. Today’s journey took us along the Sunrise Trail to Pictou where we had a very late lunch/early dinner before getting the ferry across to PEI (Prince Edward Island).
The Sunrise Trail travels more coastline. This coastline is lined with farmlands - beautiful farmhouses right on the coast with stunning views in all directions.
The 75 minute ferry crossing had us arrive in Wood Islands after 6pm with a further 45 minute drive to Charlottetown.
