Christmas Eve at Spitzkoppe & Hohenstein

    December 24, 2022 in Namibia ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

We leave Swakop' under the Christmas tree in direction to Hohenstein, with new windscreen, clean clothes and full of fuel.
We stop on our way at Spitzkoppe, big mountains and impressive rock formations, formed millions years ago by plutonic activity and exposed along the millennials thanks to erosion.
We enjoyed this particular landscape and the rock-paintings made up to 6 thousand years ago by the nomad population to communicate.
What impressed us as well was how our guide refused our 5€-tip but asked us for drinkable water, same as the children in the village, asking us for water and food but no money. We also got the occasion to get some souvenirs from Damaraland before finishing our trip to Hohenstein, where we enjoyed a Sundowner drive with our guide Gerson to see some giraffes & have some drinks.
We spent our Christmas eve dinner with 2 french girls before our Christmas family calls from our wonderful room that hopefully has WiFi for this occasion.
    Merry Christmas !
