    June 15, 2024 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Today we woke up really early and went to have our photos taken in front of the Trevi fountain. We arrived at the fountain at 6.30am and it was already really busy.

It was really beautiful. There were lots of people so we had to look out for pickpockets. We met up with our photographer, Tural. At the fountain we threw coins in and Tural took a video of it. Mama accidently threw hers up in the air and caught it again. We got a video of it. We took a lot more photos at the fountain and then we went to the Pantheon.

At the Pantheon we took more photos. I did one were I was a photo-bomber. At the Pantheon there are cool domes and a really big door. The door must have been at least 20 feet tall. The door was 2000yrs old. On the top of the dome there is a hole to let sunlight come through. This hole is called a Oculus (eye of the Pantheon.)

We then went to a small garden up high overlooking the outside of the Colosseum and took more photos. We did lots there. We did a lot of cool poses with the Colosseum in the background.

Tural then showed us a nice cafe called Cafe Roma. I had a chocolate donut and a orange granita.

After the cafe we went back towards the Colosseum to a bus stop. While we waited I went to a shop and bought a cool metal Roman gladiator type helmet. It is small so I can not wear it, but we found a plastic bottle that fitted it perfectly. I called him Gladius.

We then went to the Da Vinci museum in the Piazza De Popolo. You might remember the Piazza from the Angels and Demons tour. It had all kinds of his inventions, and some were interactive. My favourite thing were his flying machines. He had one called the Aerial Screw. This one was interactive. You could turn a handle and the screw made from fabric would turn. You could feel the air coming of it. I think it could have flew.

There was another section were it showed his paintings. I took a photo where it looked like I was stealing the Mona Lisa. There was a immersive room, that showed stuff like The Last Supper.

We then went to a restaurant near our home. Mama and I had a margarita pizza and Papa had a Campagnola. The pizza was really nice. It was a woodfire pizza. The crust was really nice.

We then headed back home and Papa had a siesta. When he woke up we went for a walk around our neighbourhood and got a gelato. I had 2 scoops, chocolate fudge and Stracciatella, and Papa had Stracciatella and Fragola.

We then went back home and went to sleep.
