• Thermal baths of Caracalla

    June 16, 2024 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

Today we went to some ancient Roman baths. They were called the Thermal Baths of Caracalla. We were going to do a VR experience that showed how it looked all those years ago, but they did not have that anymore.

At the Roman baths there were lots of mosaics. They were everywhere! There were lots of ones that showed Roman myths. There was one about Hercules. I guessed what it was before we saw the sign.

There was a game board that the Romans would have played on. You had to knock rocks into the little holes. This game was like golf.

The baths were Mama's favourite thing.

We then went to a restaurant in the area called Trastevere. I had a spaghetti pomodoro. Papa had a carbonara, and Mama had a chicken Alfredo.

We then went to a place that sold the best granita, still in Trastevere. It is family owned and is famous among locals. It was started by the current owner's grandfather. It was the same booth and everything! I had lemon flavour and Papa had lemon coconut.

We then waited for a while for a bus and then went home.

That was the end of our Rome adventure. Tomorrow we go to Venice.
