Venice

Today we explored Venice. In Venice there are no roads. Instead they have canals. They have taxi boats and gondolas going through the canals.

Venice is famous for their masks. You can get cheap ones made of plastic and expensive ones made from Paper Mache. We found a nice shop that sold ones that were hand made. They had animal masks, human face masks, and half face masks like the ones in Phantom of the Opera. We watched the store owner make a cat mask. It was a very slow process. There were hundreds of masks in the shop, how long did it take him to make them all?

We then went to St Marco square for lunch. I had a lasagna, Mama had a margarita and Papa had cuttlefish ink black spaghetti.

I bought two different hats. One was a bucket hat. The other one was a old man/golfer hat. I look really good in the golfer hat.

We then found a place that took photos of your iris. The iris is a part of your eye. It is the part that is colourful. This is something Mama has always wanted to do. Papa's iris had a beauty mark in it. Mama's was a really beautiful brown colour. Mine looked like an explosion and is green. Green is the rarest eye colour. Only 2% of the world have green eyes.

We then walked home, had dinner, and went to sleep.

Tomorrow we are going to do a glass blowing session.
