Lisboa- Fado

An easy walk from our hideaway in Sao Vincente to The Fado Museum. Along the way I loved the graffiti. Fado, means Fate, and the melancholic singing is loosely captured by the Portuguese word saudade, or longing, symbolizing a feeling of loss (a permanent, irreparable loss and its consequent lifelong damage) is a part of Lisbon tradition. A wonderful form of music sung accompanied by guitars is performed in the bars and clubs all round the city. Celeste Rodrigues is one of the best and they tell her story in the Fado museum.
