Canberra to Tokyo

A super early start to the day with some lots of hugs and long goodbyes to the family. I made my way to Canberra airport for a 7am flight to Sydney, meet my travel and shopping buddy (Ange) for our direct flight to Tokyo with ANA. It was a smooth flight and didn’t feel like a really long one thanks to some good conversations, short naps and good plane food. We arrived safely at Haneda airport around 8pm.
Having already completed our immigration form online beforehand was handy since we could just show our QR code and use the self service machines to progress our way towards the exit. We had already arranged for a private transfer last month, and our driver was waiting for us soon after we stepped outside (handy since we definitely felt the chills).
We arrived at the Hilton Shinjuku about 45 minutes later and checked into our room; a relatively spacious premium twin with executive lounge access which we will make use of in the coming days.
