• Stalker Castle

    Castle Stalker is a well-preserved medieval tower house on a small tidal islet in Loch Linnhe, around halfway between Oban and Glencoe. The history of the castle is rather complicated - in short, it dates back to the 14th century and has changed ownership between clans several times throughout the centuries (from MacDougall to Stewart to Campbell back to Stewart and onto Campbell and back to Stewart once more).

    Castle Stalker probably owes its name to the fact that it used to be a popular stopover during hunting and stalking expeditions back in the day.
