• Granville Island Market

After we checked into our hotel we decided we would go to Granville Island Market. It was about a 25 minute walk to the ferry which was located near Sunset Beach Park. It was $7 return so we paid for our tickets and a little boat took us over. We could have walked but we thought it would be fun to catch the ferry over.

We arrived at Granville Island and found the information area, and the lady explained that there were food markets, shops and an art and artisan area. We walked around the food markets and tried some chair tea and I also bought one as it was so delicious. Scott bought some chai tea to take home as well. We also bought a match scone to try which was gluten free. We then walked around the art galleries and through the various shops. We found a lady who sold Maple Syrup so we bought some Dark Maple Syrup for gifts and to take home with us. The owner explained that the dark maple syrup is made towards the end of the season and is not found outside of Canada.

We continued to walk around the island, before returning on the ferry at 6pm. We walked back to the accommodation and to a Candy Store hoping to find some cheap maple lollies. Unfortunately they were sold out so we headed to a gift store to buy some. Wendy had requested I bring some back for the office so I made sure I bought some!

We had looked at the different restaurants around us and decided to go to Spicy 6 an Indian Restaurant with positive reviews. We ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh and a Paneer dish with rice and Gluten Free Roti bread. The food was delicious and we were so full. We took home the leftovers to have for lunch the next day. We then headed back to the accommodation and relaxed before falling asleep.
