Hallington to Kirkwhelpington

Another fairly gentle day gave room for reflection and wildlife! Today brought me more skylarks and curlews and a beautiful stoat with prey. It also took me through a farm breeding horses. The horses themselves were so friendly and came towards me rather than shying away.

One farm track I walked along felt very soft. I looked closely and realised it was made entirely of various pieces of fabric... scraps of carpet and the like.

The route itself was mainly across farmland (and not particularly well signposted, or even visible at times!). But between the maps and apps, I arrived at the B&B without getting lost, and had time to leave my belongings and spend a very pleasant hour in the church.Read more
