Siena is on a hilltop, so the views are really lovely, if hazy.
Each city ward (contrada) has its own symbol, portrayed on flags and lamps. This is Onda, the wave. One of the many gates around the cityCin cin! Dinner was lovely - my first real Italian meal.A quiet moment - Palazzo Chigi-Saracini. The flags are the for the contrade.Lots of whimsical touches like this. This hill is very steep! I was glad it was dry.Incipient figs, which will be an excellent band name for later. Can't get enough of these views!

I feel like I’m starting to acclimate and get into the groove as of this evening.

Hey, neato. I can caption each photo separately. This would have been handy last year! Limited length, but I can practice pithiness.
