    My flight to Italy went as smoothly as it could have. I had been worried about border control coming in to the EU after reading some articles about how the new biometric system is creating hours-long lines in airports. As with so many of my worries, this was for naught, as the entire process took 15 minutes.

    (Side note: it is impossible for me to say, write, or think any word that rhymes with “My Sharona” without singing it to the tune of the song by The Knack. Doo doo dee doo dee, in Bologna. You’re welcome.)

    The good news is this gave me time to eat lunch in Bologna, although a food hall across the street from the train station is no doubt basic, as the kids say. Still pretty good! I’m lugging a big bag and didn’t want to haul it further afield in this heat. Now continuing on to my destination for the day…
