    On the way to San Damiano
    It's a steep one! The church is at the bottom of this slope.St. FrancisNo photos allowed in the church, but this is the cloisters. Very peaceful.Frascarelli, an Umbrian pasta. It's the little nuggets. Served with asparagus, truffle, and bacon.1Gnocchi with ragu. So tender! The best part of this meal was the sautéed spinach, though.

    I walked with my friend Larry Reed down (and down!) to a little church called San Damiano, a 12th century church important in the lives of St. Francis and Santa Chiara. There’s a monastery there, as is often the case here, and it is very peaceful. Beautiful views on the way down and back up.Read more
