The Troubles

History in one's own life time is truly fascinating. Throughout my youth "The Troubles' was there, always on the news, a scary, scary place. Its scar is left on Derry, now a vibrant, safe, interesting city. I did a wee museum dander, then went off on a cycle. Sobering. At one point, I found myself in a dead end with 20' high fences all around, kerb stones and lamp posts painted red, white and blue. A screaming loyalist area. I felt uneasy.
