Talkeetna Air Taxi

This was the most amazing, awe-inspiring adventure on our trip so far! We did the Grand Denali Flightseeing tour with a Glacier Landing. Our guide Melissa was phenomenal and truly transformed this from an expensive tour into a once-in-a-lifetime experience!! Denali was visible in all her glory, and we flew around her and also had incredible views of Mt. Foraker, Mt. Hunter, and Ruth glacier. We saw base camp loaded with tiny little tents and climbers the size of ants beginning to make their way up the mountain. The size of the mountains and rock faces were really incomprehensible. At times it felt like our wings would brush the side of the mountain but in reality we were over 2 miles away. Giant ice crevices below us that were hundreds of feet eep looked like tiny cracks. The end of Ruth Glacier is known as a ‘Green Glacier’ because a forest has developed on top of the moraines although there are still several hundred feet of ice below.Leggi altro
