    In the Med there are at least 26 words to describe the wind. Italy Mistral, Greece Meltimi, Africa Scirroco, and here in Croatia it’s called a Bora. We left the charter company’s safe harbour at day break in 10 knots, rounded an island and watched it increase up to 38 max. Fresh to frightening as Sharon Green would say. 40 miles later we landed on the west end of Korcula in Vela Luca, known for olive oil, vino, and the north home of Marco Polo. Happy crew enjoying the views, the town, and now watching AC races with a beautiful backdrop.

    The Bora strikes hard. Hold on tight ! 🌬️💨 Wind blew the top of if waves off... nearly 40 knots

    Force 8 -34-40 knots Gale -Moderately high (18-25 ft) waves of greater length, edges of crests begin to break into spindrift, foam blown in streaks Twigs breaking off trees, generally impedes progress
