Happy Canada Day!

Hated to leave our fabulous "B&B by Sandra," but it was time to head to PEI today. Couldn't have had a better host! We had great meals and super company! We are so sorry Frank wasn't there, but we are going to stop in again on our way back home.

Crossed on the Confederation Bridge from New Brunswick to PEI. It's an 8 mile long bridge, the longest in the world crossing ice-covered waters and a Canadian engineering achievement. There is no cost to come onto the island, but it will be $50 when we leave. There is also a ferry to and from Nova Scotia, but it is down for mechanical issues until later this summer.

We took the North Cape Coastal Drive and some of the Central Coastal. We stopped at several lighthouses (there are 63 lighthouses on the island), most of which are decommissioned. The soil is so red and there are beautiful wild flowers everywhere.
