    Festhung Hohensalzburg is the big fortress that sits atop Salzburg. When I say "sits atop," I mean it was quite a climb to reach it. We went up many, many sets of steps, and then there was a steep incline to get up to the fortress entrance. (1660 ft)!
    This place was so interesting and had some spectacular views. It was built over many years, but it began construction in 1077. By 1500, it looked like it does today. Amazing!    Read more
