You can see how long the river boat is. You can nearly see the end of it. The size of the boats on European rivers is determined by the length of the doors on the lock. Most measurements were made from the early coal barges. The sides of the ship are only about ten inches from the sides of the lock.Read more

Taking walking excursions through various parts of Nice. Nice is the fourth largest city in France and was once an Italian speaking that only became a part of France in the 1840s. That’s why you will see many Italian style architecture monuments and hotels turned living apartments. Roman ruins are found all over the area. Old town is unique with walls within very narrow walls.Read more

We went out to look for something inspired for dessert. We found the perfect French dish. Crapes. Mine was drizzled with chocolate and Joseph was flamed with Grand Mariner. And some great interesting places to see.Read more

We took a trip to the ancient city of Antibes built around 900AD. This beautiful city that is guarded by an ancient fort is now a place for the rich and famous with huge boats, especially from the Middle East. Picasso painted here in 1946 and all his paintings from that period are still there in an an art museum. A wonderful ancient city.Read more

Cannes is a beautiful bay but the environment near the bay is totally under-whelming. The venue for the International Film Festival which started the next day, was without virtue. I’ve seen dog parks with more panaches. The town is hilly so some cute streets.Read more
