• Village festival

    22 Januari 2024, India ⋅ 🌙 29 °C

We befriended our taxi driver (as we always seem to do!) after one very short ride. He told us there was a festival on that evening in his village and asked if we would want to go. Of course we said!

He messaged us to confirm and came to pick us up in his taxi which we shared with his 2 children. With 7 in the car there was a bit of sitting on laps but as they say in India there was always still room for one more!

The festival involved a celebration of elephants with a procession around the temple along with chanting and drums. There were also some dancing performances, one that included his daughter.

We bought some balloons for the kids and this created much joy along with the giant bubble maker that the local kids did there best to pop before they could escape. A few made it over the multiple story buildings across the road which pleased everyone immensely!

Definitely another highlight of our trip.
