Iffley (Oxford)

The Tree Hotel (in the “village” of Iffley) is just a 20 min walk/bus to the centre of town. We spent the day in Oxford: climbing the tower of St Michael’s Church which gives a great view of the town, then back later for a concert in the church.

A visit to the Ashmolean Museum made us wish we had several more days to do it justice.
The All Souls College was well worth a visit, as was the University Church with its stories of martyrs burned at the stake.

The covered markets were a real find.

Back to our hotel, then a tour of Iffley. There is no actual village but it is certainly the place to live if you have a spare few million pounds. As well as the best example of a Norman church in England, it has a pretty lock and picturesque streets and lanes.Read more
