• Rain, rain, go away!

    April 11, 2017 in Japan ⋅ 🌬 13 °C

What a gloomy, miserable day today was! It's rained most of the day and after having a lie in, putting off going out because of the rain and using it as an excuse to sort things out we decided we couldn't stay in any longer. Rocking one of my new £1.40 tops we headed back to where we had visited yesterday knowing that a lot is under cover and with the hope of visiting a gaming bar we had seen online. Nick spent ages trying to get a picture of me with the plant behind in line with the brolly! We visited Starbucks, of course, and then meandered through the shops getting the odd bits here and there. My legs were hurting for some reason and we were hit by a wave of tiredness all of a sudden so decided maybe tonight wasn't the night for gaming. We decided we'll save it for another night and head back to where we are staying to visit a restuarant I'd seen by the station. The dish was amazing! We had ramen noodles with a delicious meaty broth and topped with melt in-the-mouth pork belly. It was so tasty and the guy seemed so happy we were there, even coming over with tiny children's forks at one point with bears on as he thought we couldn't handle using chopsticks. It was quite late when we got back so just a night of relaxing, watching miranda on YouTube and bed for us! We did have our first bath each since we left the UK which was fabulous! Even if the bathtub is half the length of a normal bath and the water is so deep it goes up to your armpits when sitting in it, it was still a lovely and welcome change with a small comfort of home. Lesson learned from today: Japanese rain doesn't ease off.Read more
