• Grand Prismatic Spring

    With biscuit basin and being closed, we called an Audible and headed over to the grand prismatic spring. We got lucky enough to find some parking on the side of the road and headed through the woods towards one of Yellowstone‘s most iconic features. It was a lot of fun to see the wind blow the steam off the pools just long enough that you could see some of the amazing colors. The fact that there is so much thermal activity here, indicating one of the largest volcanoes in the world is pretty amazing! I struggled a bit with the steam blowing across my sunglasses, fogging them up enough for me to have to stop for a minute as I walked. It was pretty fun to feel that warm steam on your face in the cool air.Read more
